Nestled in a small strip mall along Lancaster Avenue in beautiful Wayne, PA is the delicious father and son operated Avenue Eatz. Mitch and Joey Weaver have been running the restaurant together for the past 2 1/2 years. Son, Joey had previously worked as a network engineer for 10 years, decided that the culinary scene was his true passion. He loved the idea of working with people and for the people, filling their tummies with the freshest ingredient- via breakfast, lunch, and homemade desserts and pies.
Wayne was the location to be, as Joey’s father grew up in the area, and soon Avenue Eatz was born. The menu is based off of dishes that Joey and his family enjoy. From then on, Avenue Eatz took pride in what their customers enjoyed and craved, adding menu items that customers as well as employees desired. Some menu items remained permanent, but several dishes are rotated on the menu with specials offered daily along with their signature Bacon of the Month.
Avenue Eatz plans to remain open for dinner in the near future, offering the same menu along with select dinner specials. Customers will be able to try various menu items from this Delaware County gem, and may soon realize why they were voted “Best Burger of the Mainline” by the Radnor Patch and “Best Breakfast in Wayne”. If you’re craving a savory slice of homemade in house Quiche Lorraine, or have a hankering for a tall stack of pancakes with a freshly squeezed orange juice, Avenue Eatz is where you need swing by.
Some of the more popular and locally loved breakfast items include the Morning After and the Salty Pig Sandwich. The Salty Pig involves a grilled inside-out asiago bagel with imported prosciutto, melted cheddar cheese and eggs. The Morning After can truly turn around anyone’s bad morning, pairing scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, avocados, bacon & Sriracha mayo on a house-made pretzel roll. The Breakfast Burrito is another employee and customer favorite served up with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, red onions, bell peppers, refried beans & your choice of meat, paired with house made pico de gallo and loaded with Mexican seasoning.
On the sweeter side are the pillow like new Belgian Pancakes, which are absolutely sinful when combined with chocolate chips. These babies are more rich than normal pancakes. They are made with yeast and rise for 24 hours in order to give a more complex flavor and a pillow like texture. Avenue Eatz offers two french toast varieties including Brioche French Toast made with locally baked brioche, and the new Babka French Toast, which is baked daily in-house with a different flavor for each batch. Babka is a rich buttery dough, similar to brioche, with different fillings swirled throughout, such as cinnamon walnut and chocolate. Be sure to call to find out the flavor of the day. The Boardwalk Waffles are a new addition that will be sure to satisfy anyone’s early morning sweet tooth. Each sweet breakfast specialty can be loaded with chocolate chips, fresh fruit, or honey glazed bananas and pecans for a few dollars extra.
Avenue Eatz supplies gourmet baked goods to consumers in the area. These baked goods include their freshly baked brownies, cookies, and pies. A unforgettable crowd pleaser includes the Maple Bourbon Bacon Pecan Pie and the French Coconut Pie. Avenue Eatz offers breakfast and lunch catering with their most signature menu items.
