Make your Sunday Funday a little more special this Sunday, February 25th with Variety – the Children’s Charity’s “Let Them Eat Cake” event. All year long the area’s best pastry chefs hone their craft for this exciting event! Guests will be able to sample more than 35 cakes while enjoying live music and unlimited wine tastings at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Millennium Ballroom, located at 1200 Market Street in the heart of Center City, from 6-8 PM. All proceeds benefit Variety – the Children’s Charity to improve the quality of life for children with special needs.
From the very best wedding pastry chefs in the Delaware Valley to student bakers, eacj will vie to whip up some of the wildest, wackiest and of course delicious multi-tiered cakes you’ve ever seen in this year’s theme of ‘In the Jungle’. A panel of celebrities and noted culinary experts will vote on the most scrumptious submissions, taking into account various elements such as the theme, look and, special category this year: exotic ingredients.
Proudly sponsored by Firstrust Bank and with music courtesy of MoleStreet Artists, this event offers unlimited wine and spirit tastings, goodie bags, auction items and no doubt all the cake you can eat! Boxes are provided so you can take some cake to go too! The best part is 100% of the proceeds go to fund Variety’s vocational baking program for children and young adults with special needs.
