Every year, the Time Out Bar Awards celebrate the most outstanding achievements in the bar community in cities around the world to give the best bars, best crews and best drinks the spotlight they deserve. This year, the awards took place in Philadelphia for the first time—presented in association with William Grant & Sons, the independent family-owned distiller—and winners were announced last night.
We at William Grant & Sons are committed to supporting the most outstanding achievements in the drinks industry, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating the winners of last night’s Time Out Philadelphia Bar Awards. William Grant & Sons and Time Out are both truly passionate about uncovering the best bars, trends and industry personalities across the country, and these awards are a brilliant opportunity to give these bars and bartenders spotlight they deserve, said Charlotte Voisey, Director of Brand Advocacy at William Grant & Sons.
Time Out is the global media and entertainment brand that inspires people to make the most of the city and bars have always been a central part of that. This year, the Time Out Bar Awards are taking place in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, San Francisco and Philadelphia, bringing together and honoring the most gifted bar owners, mixologists, industry legends and innovators across the U.S.
Friday Saturday Sunday was crowned Philadelphia’s Bar of the Year at the Time Out Bar Awards celebration last night. The beloved Rittenhouse institution, which was recently taken over and revamped by Chef Chad Williams and his wife, Hanna, impresses with its bustling and elegant downstairs bar that cranks out creative and experimental boozy concoctions.
Other venues in high spirits include Royal Boucherie—Top Chef winner Nicholas Elmi’s cozy French brasserie and cocktail bar in Old City—which was honored as the city’s Best New Bar; Pub & Kitchen—the Graduate Hospital corner spot cranking out upscale soul food—picked up the award for Best Bar Crew; and “Good Night and Good Luck” at a.bar—a rich rye cocktail made with smoky Laphroaig, hellfire shrub and absinthe—bagged the Best Cocktail in Philadelphia title. “Gin & Terrarium” at Maison 208 was named the Most Instagrammable Cocktail, because, come on, the thing is served from an actual terrarium!
