Make your Sunday Funday a little more special this Sunday, February 24th with Variety – the Children’s Charity’s “Let Them Eat Cake” event. All year long the area’s best pastry chefs hone their craft for this exciting event! In its 16thyear, Let Them Eat Cake guests will be able to sample more than 35 cakes decorated with this year’s theme, “Let Them Eat Cake Under the Sea”, while enjoying live music and unlimited wine tastings, and you can enjoy a wedding attire fashion show from Van Cleve. Let Them Eat Cake is perfect for a family outing, a friendly gathering, and night out on the town at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel Millennium Ballroom, from 6-8 pm at 1200 Market Street.
All proceeds benefit Variety – the Children’s Charity to improve the quality of life for children with special needs. Since 1935, Variety- The Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley has continued its mission to enrich the lives of children and young adults with disabilities through social, educational, and vocational programs that nurture independence and self-confidence, and prepare them for life.
The entire evening of fun and fabulous cakes will cost each attendee a $40 donation in advance, or $50 at the door for students it is $25 with a valid student ID; including unlimited alcohol with be provided with the tickets purchased, to Variety – the Children’s Charity. This is certainly a great deal that will support a fantastic cause.
From the very best wedding pastry chefs in the Delaware Valley to student bakers, each will vie to whip up some of the wildest, wackiest and of course delicious multi-tiered cakes you’ve ever seen. A panel of celebrities and noted culinary experts will vote on the most scrumptious submissions, taking into account various elements such as the theme, look and, special category this year: exotic ingredients.
