Manayunk BBQ, Bourbon, and Blues Craft Beer Festival

What a perfect way to spend a beautiful Spring day listening to blues and sipping beers on the deck overlooking the river. We had a great day at the Manayunk Brewery! This year marks the 18th Annual Manayunk BBQ, Bourbon, and Blues Craft Beer Fest-this event featured unlimited samples from over 70 breweries. The brewery stations were set up all over the outdoor deck overlooking the river and inside first and second floor of the brewery. Small glasses were given out for 3 oz. beer samplings.

General Admission was $50 per ticket for 1-5 pm and included 3 bourbon samples; VIP tickets were $65 including admission from 12-5 pm with premium samples, t-shirt, and food item. The menu advertised BBQ Sandwich, Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Soft Pretzel.  I did see 2 whole pigs being roasted on the grill which looked awesome, but I didn’t get to try them.

Lines weren’t long to wait for samples and vendors didn’t seem to run out. Some of the breweries included Manayunk Brewing, Philadelphia Brewing Co., Double Nickel, Evil Genius Beer, Yards, Flying Fish, The Other Farm, Old Forge, Naked Brewing, Cape May Brewing, Conshohocken Brewing, Dock Street, Ship Bottom, Neshaming Creek, Bullfrog, Broken Goblet, Iron Hill, Lancaster Brewing, Pizza Boy, Commonwealth Ciders, Saint Benjamin, Weyerbacher, Sly Fox, Stable 12, Riverhorse, Stoudts, Sterling Pig, 2nd Story, and Forgotten Boardwalk.

Our favorites included Manayunk Brewery’s Schuylkill Punch, Forgotten Boardwalk’s Funnel Cake Ale, and Evil Genius Turtle Power. Look for Evil Genius to be opening up in Fishtown, Philadelphia Fall 2016!

The Fermentors band was playing outside on the deck and another musician played inside on the first floor. The music was great and it was nice that the event was spread out all over the brewery. We would highly recommend this event to all our beer drinking friends its a great way to spend a Spring day  and who doesn’t love a Saturday spent day drinking in Manayunk?
