Girl’s Weekend Getaway

Cape May, New Jersey offers visitors a delightful blend of natural beauty and historical charm. This peaceful seaside town has captured the hearts of many for generations. With its pristine beaches, historic Victorian homes, local wineries, charming shops, and fine dining restaurants, Cape May has something for everyone.

This Fall, we had the pleasure of embarking on a memorable weekend getaway to Cape May’s renowned Montreal Beach Resort. Situated right on the beach block, this resort has 70 rooms with balconies and breathtaking ocean views, allowing guests to wake up to the soothing sound of crashing waves.

Another highlight of the resort is their outdoor pool, despite the crispness in the air during our stay. Many guests could be found enjoy lunch or dinner on the covered patio, at tables poolside or the sundeck. The pool will be open through the end of October for those autumn days with lots of sunshine, providing an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring all that Cape May has to offer.

Guests often frequent the resort’s on-site restaurant, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy a variety of live entertainment at Harry’s on weekends as well. Beyond the resort, we enjoyed strolled along the beach and promenade, tracing the shoreline as seagulls soared overhead. We also enjoyed the complimentary golf cart service allowing us to visit various nearby locations around Cape May from 9 am to 9 pm. Along the ride we took in the views of the historic Victorian homes, adorned with intricate architectural details.

Girl’s Weekend also provided us with a trolley ride to visit some local wineries, where we indulged in the flavors of the region’s wine and light bites. Cape May Winery is the oldest winery in the region and produces so many wine varietals. Table seating is allowed for 90 minutes per reservation. Both Cape May Winery and Willow Creek Winery provided such an incredible ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options, as well as a full dining and live musical performers. Don’t leave Willow Creek Winery without trying one of their signature Willow Whips floats- a delectable frozen treat you won’t find at other wineries.

It wouldn’t be a Girl’s Weekend without doing some shopping. Cape May’s quaint streets are lined with a treasure trove of unique boutiques, offering artisanal crafts, clothing, and home decor. With an array of charming shops at our fingertips, we couldn’t resist indulging in a little retail therapy, finding souvenirs to remind us of this weekend.

As our weekend getaway drew to a close, we felt very grateful to have experienced Cape May’s unparalleled beauty and hospitality. The location of the Montreal Beach Resort had provided the perfect base from which to explore and immerse ourselves in the delights of this charming coastal town. Whether you’re looking for a girl’s weekend or solace of the sea, no matter the season we wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Cape May, NJ.
