Ocean Prime, Philadelphia’s modern and all-around stunning restaurant, lounge and event space located on the corner of 15th and Sansom streets is expanding its 5 & 10 Happy Hour to include a broader selection of bites. Lucky for us, we were able to stop by to taste some of these delicious new additions. The 5 & 10 happy hour launched last summer, and has been a popular go-to option for after work cocktails and gatherings with close friends looking to have a 5 star experience complete with hand crafted cocktails and impressive small plate selections for an unbeatable price.
The 5 & 10 menu highlights what Ocean Prime does best, specializing in incredible seafood, steaks, with appreciation for modern and artful presentation, making Ocean Prime a truly extraordinary dining destination. Ocean Prime takes pride in sourcing the highest quality ingredients available, creating their made from scratch menu with pure and simple flavors for each dish. To accompany their happy hour menu items, guests can enjoy any signature cocktail as well as select red and white wines, and local craft vodka Stateside “Your Way” with a mixer of your choice for only $10 during happy hour or $5 prime beers.
The $5 small plates are a great start to your 5 & 10 happy hour experience. This menu includes the Housemade Pretzels, accompanied with indulgent cheese and spicy mustard sauce, and the Truffle Fries, as featured on the previous happy hour menu. Other additions include the infamous White Truffle Caviar Deviled Eggs, and Char Broiled Oysters, which are lightly coated with parmesan cheese to add remarkable flavor.
The $10 small plate selections are a satisfying and delicious option that will definitely leave you feeling full, especially after diving into some housemade pretzels. The new $10 small plate menu includes Calamari, Crabcake Sliders, and Prime Sliders. There is also a Tuna Roll featured on the menu, made with spicy tuna, avocado, and cucumber. The Crispy Seabass Sandwiches are another yummy and delightfully crispy seafood addition that pairs very well with truffle fries and ketchup. A perfect meal or sharing option, especially with a signature cocktail.
Specialty cocktails, select red and white wines, and beers are included in the 5 & 10 happy hour. Stateside “Your Way” is a new addition to the menu in which you can select one mixer to shake up with Philadelphia’s home distilled vodka. Some popular specialty cocktails include the Berries and Bubbles, which is poured table side for a truly bubbly experience. This is made with Belvedere Citrus Vodka, Marinated Berries, House Made Sour, and Domaine Chandon Brut.
Other cocktail varietals include The Rum Punch, made with Don Pancho 8 Year Rum, Ancho Reyes, Apricot Orchard, Fresh Orange, and Chocolate Bitters, and the Cucumber Gimlet, served over crushed ice with Bombay Sapphire Gin, Muddled Fresh Cucumber, and hand squeezed lime. All of Ocean Prime’s cocktails are freshly prepared with infused spirits, purees, and mixes, made to order by their skillful team of bartenders. Ocean Prime’s 5 & 10 happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4:30-6:30pm.
