Lobster Clambake at Red Owl Tavern

During the hot summer months in the city we’re always ready to enjoy dig into some delicious seafood. Right on Independence Mall, Red Owl Tavern, has announced the return of their New England-style Lobster Clambakes — available now through Labor Day, Tuesday-Sunday for $39 and just $25 every Monday! 
Enjoy the beautiful weather with plentiful outdoor tables along both 5th and Chestnut streets boasting views of Independence Mall -one block away from just one block away from Museum of the American Revolution. Seafood lovers will surely indulge in this classic one-pot feast filled with mussels, clams, shrimp, fingerling potatoes and corn on the cob topped off with a one pound lobster (claws and tail included). The menu at Red Owl Tavern also includes plenty of other Mediterranean-style grilled seafood options with some of the finest local ingredients in Philadelphia.
Why not try some of their appetizers like the Crab & Corn Fritters with chipotle aioli, Charred Octopus with potato-chorizo, shishito, and salsa verde, Fried Calamari with cherry peppers, and citrus aioli, or Tavern Mussels with Yard’s pale ale, lots of garlic, and dijon herb butter. These small plates are great for sharing or making a meal out. For entrees besides the Lobster Clambake we really enjoyed the Whole Grilled Branzino with crispy potatoes, spiced carrot, shellfish reduction, and fennel pollen. Red Owl Tavern is also serving Pan Seared Cod with miso braised cockles, melted leeks, and creamy tallegio polenta and Seared Salmon with farrotto, salsify, charred asparagus, and winter citrus.
Guests can pair their meal with plenty of local craft beers such as an ice cold Victory Summer Love for just $5 additional. Red Owl Tavern highlights include a new seasonal cocktail menu, crafted by Kyle Darrow, Lead Bartender and recent winner of the Visit Philly With Love competition, celebrates the art culture and history of Philadelphia. Some standouts include The Key and The Kite – concocted with Rhubarb Infused Fords Gin, Lemon, Cardamon Bitters and Ginger beer; and the Penn’s Treaty – mixed with Bourbon, Black Pepper Tincture, Lemon, Strawberry Bell Pepper and White Balsamic Shrub. Guests can also find his winning cocktail; Art of the City featuring Black lime infused Bluebird Gin, Lime, Pastis, Orgeat Syrup and egg white, at participating hotel bars across Philadelphia.
