Stepping into Louie Louie is one of those moments you’re certain you made the right decision in dining out. We are reminded that going out to a restaurant is a full experience including the sights, smells, and sounds. West Philly is certainly developing an upgraded dining scene and we’re happy to give you a first look at what is sure to be a big hit…

The newest venture by Fearless Restaurants, whose collection includes the White Dog Cafe, Moshuluand more has opened Louie Louie Bistro & Bar at 3611 Walnut St. inside the Hilton Inn at Penn. Since opening on July 9 they are now serving lunch, dinner, happy hour, and late night. Complete with a full raw bar selection, this 6,000 square-foot space accessible from the hotel lobby and its own street entrance features colorful, lavish-yet-cozy velvet furnishings designed by Philly-based Rohe Creative. You’ll adore the vintage lighting fixtures and checkered black and white floor tile- not to mention the signature mosaic entrance when you first walk in.

Culinary director Clark Gilbert describes the cuisine at Louie Louie as “grand-mere” or  comfort food. You’ll see a variety of  French and Mediterranean inspired menu items including a Caramelized Onion Tart, Roasted Baby Beet Salad, Lobster Bisque, or Escargot for starters. A wide variety of cocktails, craft beer, and wine are also being served. Including their Cosmopolitan garnished with an iced rose petal.

Larger plates include a variety of vegetable dishes like Grilled Asparagus, Comte Ravioli, Mushroom Ragout, and Zucchini Pasta. Seafood options like Tuna Nicoise Tartine, Branzino, Scottish Salmon or Mussels and Frites with white wine, tomato, garlic, fine herbs, and spicy aioli. Traditional favorites like Roasted Chicken Breast, Roasted Duck, and Steak Frites are also on the menu. Each day of the week also brings a new entree special:

  • Monday – Shrimp & Polenta
  • Tuesday – Veal Milanese
  • Wednesday – Sole Meuniere
  • Thursday – Short Rib
  • Friday – Bouillabaisse
  • Saturday – Lobster Frites
  • Sunday – Pork Chop

And save room for dessert because you’ll want to check out the French-inspired selection offered. Louie Louie is now open Monday through Thursday from 11 am until 11 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am until 12 am , Saturday 9 am to midnight and Sunday 9 am to 9 pm.
