It’s well worth the walk over to the corner of Girard & Montgomery Ave in Fishtown to experience Kraftwork Bar. Opening in the neighborhood back in 2010. This casual gastro-pub features a rotating micro-brew selection paired with comfort-food to please everyone. The restaurant has a cool vibe with exposed-brick walls and beautifully understated decor designed by sculptor Andrew Jevremovic, handmade with tiger maple and steel. The community oriented dining room revolves around the bar featuring 20 rotating draft beers available on tap daily and a huge, hand-forged saw hanging from the ceiling. The design pays homage to the neighborhood’s industrial past while also giving a nod to its artistic present.
Since opening, Kraftwork has been a neighborhood favorite committed to providing craft beer sure to impress the Beer Connoisseur and honest, scratch-made food. They even offer fine craft beer available to go! Choose from a variety of ciders, seltzers, IPAs and more.
We stopped by to check out their brunch menu served every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm. Whether happy hour, lunch, or brunch the Pretzel Bites with cheddar fondue, Crispy Pierogies, and Toasted Garlic-Herb Fries with homemade beer mustard aioli are all great options for snacking while enjoying a cold craft beer.
We were also happy to enjoy the fresh flavors of the Asparagus Salad with shaved asparagus, shaved carrots, pickled strawberries, toasted almonds, feta, and mint vinaigrette. It is not often that we’re ordering a salad at a bar, but this was a great one. Check out the Beer Can Chicken Sandwich with fried long hot peppers and onions, and sharp provolone available for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Along with a classic Kraftwork Burger made with a special dry-aged blend patty on a brioche bun, and in addition to bibb lettuce, and pickles you are able to choose your toppings from: Caramelized onions, Bacon-red onion marmalade, Fried long hot peppers and onions, Sauteed mushrooms, Bacon, Sharp cheddar, Blue cheese, Sharp provolone, Gruyere, and Fried egg.
During brunch we would also highly recommend the French Toast with seasonal berries, as well as the decadent Fried Chicken and Waffles topped with sausage gravy and a side of maple syrup. Stop by during the week Monday to Friday enjoy $3 Select Craft Pints, $5 House Red & White Wine, $4 Single Mixer Cocktails, $5 NY Style Pizza, $5 Pretzel Bites, and $5 Hummus & Pita during Happy Hour 4 – 6 pm.
Delivery is also available via Caviar if you don’t feel like making the trip over to 541 East Girard Ave.
