We recently enjoyed a special delivery from Chef Lee Wallach at Home Appétit! During these times when many don’t want to risk their health with a visit to the grocery store, Home Appétit is in a position to help people get fresh, easy-to-heat, healthy, tasty food right to their doors! Home Appétit is a weekly meal delivery service for busy professionals, families on-the-go, and anyone who craves a simpler and more flavorful quality of life. Personally this service made our lives a whole lot easier while menus launch every Thursdays, orders can be placed until Saturdays at midnight, and delivery is on Monday or Tuesday evenings.
Chef Lee started his career in Philadelphia as a personal chef after working in California’s Napa Valley, Miami, and New York City. Building relationships with with local farmer’s markets, CSAs, and top-of-the-line grocers has always been essential to his business. Home Appétit currently works closely with Adrian at Heritage Farm, Jack at Urban Roots, Teddy at Plowshare Farm and with the The Common Market Co-op, which sources from farms in NJ, NY, DE, MD and PA.
We selected a variety of dishes from the menu which changes weekly and within each menu there’s a broad degree of options like dairy-free, vegan, or gluten free. We enjoyed the variety of vegetarian, seafood, and overly health conscious options we experienced with our sampling. Plus the packaging kept everything clean and organized. For those with more restricted dietary needs Home Appétit offers in-home and delivery personal chef services with fully custom menus.

Some of the dishes we sampled included: Local Heritage Farms Cobb Salad, Mesquite BBQ Amish Chicken, Plancha Seared Gulf Shrimp with Lemon Orzo, Cucumber and Watermelon Salad with Feta, Warm Sesame Noodles with Pork, Spiced Lamb and Hummus, and Spanish Style Vegetable Grain Salad.
Home Appétit offers deliver everywhere in Philadelphia and roughly 25 miles outside of the city. Their clients are found all over the region including places like Fort Washington, Ambler, Willow Grove, Berwyn, Newtown Square. Media, Haddonfield and towns closer to the city.
Plus they recently started a great partnership with High Street on Market. Now customers can enjoy adding a variety of baked goods including loafs, bagels, cinnamon buns, granola and more to their order every week. So far, the cinnamon buns have been the most popular! Home Appétit is also offering High Street on Market soups and salads. Last month, they also partnered with Chef Nick Elmi when he created some exclusive dishes for us and in return Home Appétit were able to donate food to his restaurant staff.
We hope you are inspired to try some offerings by Home Appétit! As always we hope that you are staying safe at home and social distancing, but that does not mean you need to compromise on flavor.
