This July, Chef Eli Collins and the team at a.kitchen rolled out a fabulous new happy hour option for Rittenhouse Square. The sleek contemporary American restaurant located in AKA Rittenhouse Square in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia. With some of the country’s most innovative wine and spirits programs, a.kitchen has been named “One of America’s Best Wine Restaurants” by Wine Enthusiast and awarded Three Bells by Philadelphia Inquirer critic Craig LaBan. a.kitchen’s bistro spirit showcases a versatile menu that allows guests to stop by for a few small plates or enjoy a more traditional dinner or lunch.
Their happy hour is most noteable for the special $25 Bottle of Happy, tempranillo rose finca torremilanos 2016, ribera del duero ES. This rose is darker in color than many you’ve probably encountered with lively orange shades. It has a fresh and intense nose with notes of red and white flowers. Its zesty and agreeable grapey flavor for the palate with mineral sensations that enhance its freshness and complexity. We also love pairing it with a.kitchen’s selection of fresh shucked Local East Coast Sweet Amalia Oysters from Cape May, NJ.
Other happy hour offerings include Potato chips, Swordfish & Caper Dip, Lamb & Pork Sausage with cucumber yogurt and Pork & Bacon Pate with grilled bread all for $6. Each plate was big enough to share, but not so overwhelming that we couldn’t enjoy our meal afterwards. Other drink specials offered are $8 featured wine by the glass, and $5 seasonal draft beer. Stop by a.kitchen to check out these happy hour offerings Monday through Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Reservations are also available via OpenTable.
