IGNITE Benefit for C-CAP

Don’t miss your chance to help support Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a non-profit that works with culinary high school vocational students in the Philadelphia region- while enjoying tastings from some of the premier restaurants in Philadelphia.  On, October 30, 2017 at 6:00pm in The Cira Centre Atrium at JG Domestic, 2929 Arch Street, Philadelphia will host the 5th Annual IGNITE Benefit… Firing Up Tomorrow’s Chefs.

C-CAP provides job training, scholarships, career and college advising, and exposure to all aspects of the culinary industry to a population that desperately needs support and guidance. That kind of in-depth programming costs money, which is why they need your help. Sponsorship or ticket purchase insures that C-CAP will be able to continue providing our students with the training, scholarships and mentoring that will literally change their lives and lead them to a rewarding and fruitful career.

IGNITE is not only an opportunity for guests to try amazing dishes from some of the best chefs in Philadelphia, but also a chance to meet the very students you are helping. This year chefs from Distrito, J.G. Domestic, Shake Shack, Maison 208, Zeppoli, Essen Bakery, Walnut Street Cafe, R2L, Jezabel’s, Osteria, and more will be participating in the evening’s festivities.

Led by chef, author, and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson as board co-chair, Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a national non-profit that educates and guides underserved high school students toward a bright future.

Through our holistic approach to culinary training and career exploration, C-CAP prepares students for the workplace through chef mentoring, field trips, job shadows, work experience and job skills, and college and career advising.

Founded by culinary educator and cookbook author Richard Grausman, C-CAP impacts over 20,000 students a year and has also awarded over $53 million in scholarships since its inception. Countless C-CAP alumni work throughout the country and are guiding the future leaders of the culinary and hospitality industry.

In the Philadelphia region alone, C-CAP prepares 1,000 high school students in 17 schools for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry. C-CAP provides job training and internships (both back of house and front of house), curriculum enrichment for high school culinary classrooms, career exploration and advising opportunities, scholarships through cooking competitions, college advising, teacher professional development and product donations for classrooms.
