The Spirit of Philadelphia is once again teaming up with Yards Brewing Company to present the Yards Brews Cruises summer series from June 22nd through September 21st. For one Thursday a month, guests can board the Spirit for an evening sail that is anything but quiet. On June 22, July 13, August 17, and September 21, Spirit of Philadelphia will host the ultimate party on the water with barbecue-inspired seasonal fare, Yards beer, music, dancing and games – all lead by WMMR personalities, Jacky Bam Bam and Marisa Magnatta. Each cruise will have its own unique theme inspired by a signature Yards Ale. WMMR’s Jacky Bam Bam will host the first two cruises in the series. On June 22, Hula Hops Luau sets sail, with a luau along the Delaware featuring Yards’ summer wheat ale Saison. The July 13 cruise will give guests a head start to celebrating the holidays with the Season Greetings cruise, where Poor Richard’s Tavern Spruce will be the ale of choice.
WMMR’s Marisa Magnatta plays host for the final two summer cruises. On August 17, turn back the clock to 1987, as Magnatta hosts Pretty in PYNK featuring Yards’ PYNK seasonal berry ale. Cruise guests are encouraged to dress up in their best 80’s attire for a prom on the water. The September 21 cruise jumps a decade forward with the theme Big Hair, Big Beer, a throwback 90s party featuring Yards’ Cape of Good Hope Double IPA.
New for 2017, each Yards Brews Cruise will have its own dessert pairing provided by Frost 321, Capofitto, and Franklin Fountain. Pairings include Ice Cream, Gelato and Frozen Pina Coladas. The buffet menu includes Organic Mixed Salads, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Three-Cheese Baked Macaroni, Corn on the Cob, BBQ Pork Spare Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, and Italian Sausage. Additional dessert options are available including Seasonal Fruit, Lemon Pound Cake & Strawberries, Vanilla Bean Mousse & Raspberry Sauce, Red Velvet & Chocolate Chip Brownie, and Caramel Apple Bread Pudding. Yards’ beer experts will also be on board for each cruise with samples and brewing Q & A sessions.
Tickets for the Brews Cruises start at $51.90 per person. Guests must be 21 and over with a valid ID to attend. Each cruise boards at the dock of the Spirit of Philadelphia at 401 S.
